Post-mortem examinations were performed in 35 sea-gulls from Vistula bay region, to collect Trematoda from fish-eating birds and compare them with those found in foxes fed on fish from Vistula bay (table). Two species of Trematoda were found: Cryptocotyle concavum (Creplin, 1825) and Apophallus mühlingi (Jägerskiöld, 1899), which also occur in foxes. Three species: Renicola lari Timon-David, 1933, Maritrema subdolum Jägerskiöld, 1909 and Diplostomum baeri Dubois, 1937 are new for the Polish fauna.

Helminthologic studies were made in 15 polecats (Putorius putorius L.) and in beech marten (Martes foina L.) from various regions of Poland; 10 species of parasites were found, thus adding to the Polish helminthofauna of polecats 9 and to that of beech marten 2 species. Six species of parasites: Euryhelmis squamata Rudolphi, 1819; Taenia tenuicollis Rudolphi, 1809; Skrjabinogyrus nasicola (Leuckart, 1842); Crenosoma taiga Skrjabin et Petrov, 1928; Capillaria mustellorum Cameron et Parnell, 1932 and C. mucronata (Molin, 1858) are new for Poland.
Helminthologic studies were made on red foxes: 8 wild foxes from various regions of Poland, 3 from the breeding farm in Elbląg region and 5 from ZOO in Łódź; 24 species of helminths (table) were found. Helminthofauna of foxes from various environments was compared. Helminthofauna of wild foxes is the richest one, producing the highest intensity of invasion. The foxes from the Elbląg farm were fed on fish from Drużno lake which resulted in the incidence of Trematodes, absent from wild foxes. Three foxes were found to harbour Trichinella spiralis (Oven, 1835), this suggesting that foxes in Poland are an important source of trichinellosis. Attention is called to the incidence of Nemathelmintes (Enterobius) in these animals. As a result of examinations helminthofauna of red fox in Poland has been enriched by 8 species and Polish fauna by one species - Trichocephalus vulpis Froelich, 1789.

Wpływ karmy na helmintofaunę kotów

100%
9 cats from the region of Vistula bay and 2 cats from the breeding farm, fed on fall-offs of sea fish, were examined for helminthofauna. The results obtained are tabulated. On the basis of literature data and own observations, helminthofauna of cats from various biotypes is compared. The cats from the Vistula bay region were invaded by 7 species of Trematodes, those derived from the farms only by one. The cats from Vistula bay region exibited a number of species which occur in fish-eating birds. A common incidence of Opisthorchis felineus (Rivolta, 1884) is stressed, this painting to Vistula bay region as an important focus of this zoonosis. Helminthofauna of the cats under examination differs from that of city cats by the higher number of Trematoda species and lower one of Nemathelminthes species.
A change in the kind of food being introduced on one of the breeding farms investigated previously (Malczewski, 1962) additional examinations were undertaken in Alopex lagopus L., deriving from this farm and fed now with sea-fish fall-offs. The helminthofauna of the animals has undergone important changes (Table). All animals under examination showed a massive Cryptocotyle concavum (Creplin, 1825) invasion, whereas in the previous studies the parasite was found in only one animal; its massive incidence was also encountered in other farms. C. concavum is a species typical of birds, being met only sporadically in mammals.

Odrobaczanie danieli Fenbesanem w hodowli fermowej

51%
Post mortem examination of 8 fallow deer before and 7 after deworming with Fenbesan in dose 7.5 mg/kg body weight during three following days administrated per os, showed unaequal sensibility of different species of gastrointestinal nematodes on this medicament. Especialy resistant to this drug were nematodes Ostertagia drozdzi and O. leptospicularis, and their percentage index of invasion intensity increased considerably after deworming. It can be a beginning of drug resistance. It is necessary to use different drugs to avoid it.
Rintal 2.4% premix (Bayer) in single dose 7.5 mg of active substance on kg body weight was given to the calves of red and fallow deer. Effectiveness of deworming against nematodes from family Trichostrongylidae was 85.2% in red and 97.8% in fallow deer. Against namatodes from genus Trichocephalus the effectiveness was higher extending in red deer 98.1%, and in fallow deer 99.5%. Anthelmintic was not effective against nematodes Varestrongylus sagittatus and Elaphostrongylus cervi.
