The aim of the studies was to determine whether severity of sharp eyespot symptoms on winter wheat plants depended on cultivar. The trials were carried out in glasshouse conditions in pots with soil and incorporated artificial inoculation. There were five winter wheat cultivars tested: Muszelka, Buteo, Bogatka, Zyta and Nadobna. Severity of sharp eyespot differed significantly depending on winter wheat cultivar as well as on Rhizoctonia species used as inoculum. Out of five tested cultivars, severity of sharp eyespot caused by Rhizoctonia cerealis van der Hoeven was highest on plants of Bogatka cultivar, in case of Rhizoctonia solani Kühn as causal agent, the highest severity of disease was found on plants of Nadobna cultivar. Buteo cultivar was moderately susceptible to R. cerealis and R. solani.
