Olejek szałwiowy otrzymany z surowca krajowego nie różnił się w zasadniczy sposób od olejków pochodzących z innych krajów europejskich. Zawierał on średnio: 53,1% tujonu, 14,8% kamfory, 78,3% cyneolu i 6,6%/?-kartiofylenu. Zawartość pozostałych zidentylikowanych składników (kamfenu, a-humulenu, borneolu, octanu bornylu, a- i /¡-pinenu, limonenu, /»-cymenu, 0-myrcenu i linalolu) mieściła się w granicach 0,4-3,9%. Olejek szałwiowy odznaczał się umiarkowanym działaniem na bakterie, przy czymdziałał on silniej na bakterie Gram-dodatnie—S. aureus, Str.faecalis i B. subtil is (MIC = 2.500-5.000 ng/cm3) niż na bakterie Gram-ujemne — E. coli, K. pneumoniae i f. aeruginosa (MIC — 7.500 (ig/cm3). Działanie na grzyby było zróżnicowane. Najsilniej hamował on rozwój dermatofitów M. gypseum (MIC = 100 ng/cm3), słabiej grzybów drożdżoidalnych C. albicans (MIC = 2.500 ng/cm3) i najsłabiej grzybów pleśniowych A.fumigatus (MIC = 7.500 jig/cm3). Główne składniki olejku szałwiowego (lujon, kamfora i cyneol) wykazywały umiarkowane działanie przeciwdrobnoustrojowe. Hamowały one wzrost S. aureus i C. albicans w granicach stężeń 2.500-5.000 |j,g/cm3 oraz E. coli w granicach stężeń 5.000-7.500 (ig/cm3.

There was no important difference between the sage essential oil obtained from local raw material and the essential oils derivating from c '.her European countries. It contained on an average: 53,1 % of thujone, 14,8% of camphor, 7,3% of cineol and 6,6% of /?-caryophyIlene. Contents of other identificated components (camphane, a-humulene, borneol, bornyl acetate, a- and /?-pinene, limonene, /»-cymene, /i-myrcene and linalool) were from 0.4 to 3.9% Sage essential oil was characterized by moderate activity on bacteria. It acted stronger on Gram-positive bacteria — S. nureus, Str.faecalis and B. subtilis (MIC = 2.500-5.000 fig/cm3) than on Gram-negative bacteria — E. coli, K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa (MIC = 7.500 ug/cm3). Its activity on fungi was differentiated. It inhibited in the strongest way the development of dermatophytes — M. gypseum (MIC = 100 ug/cm3), weaker the development of yeasts — C. albicans (MIC = 2.500 ug/cm3 ) and it acted in the weakest way on moulds — A. fumigatus (MIC = 7.500 ug/cm3). The main components of sage essential oil (thujone, camphor and cineol) showed moderate antimicroorganism activity. They inhibited the growth of S. aureus and C. albicans in concentrations from 2.50C to 5.000 ug/cm3 and E. coli in concentrations from 5.000 to 7.500 ug/cm3. Borneol, linalool and p-cymene showed the slrong activity on bacteria and fungi (MIC = 250-2.500 jig/cm3). Other components acted weakly on above microorganisms (MIC = 5.000-10.000 ng/cm3). The studies show that OL Salviae and some of its components (borneol, linalool and p-cymene) can be used in treatment of diseases by microorganisms, especially by pathogenic fungi.
