The environmental protection problems in the refrigeration manufacturing and storage of fruit and vegetables have been presented. The proecological actions of companies, based on production processes with low cost and high energy efficiency, reduction of energy and water consumption, limitation of produced waste and providing of high quality products, have been described. The environmental protection regulations in the food industry companies have been discussed. The parameters characterizing the negative impact of human activity on the natural environment have been presented. Attention has been paid to environmental footprint generated by the manufacturing, transport, storage of fruit and vegetables, and factors significantly influencing on its value. The benefits of determining the carbon footprint (CF) have been indicated. It has been shown that CF affects significantly the communities and companies awareness and also is an impulse to take environmental actions and strengthening the balanced consumption. The refrigeration systems owners obligations have been presented.
