Although criticized, the law on nature protection contains a set of very significant and useful regulations which may help to reduce devastation of nature and provide legal basis for efficient management in protected areas. That is why the law is contested by groups opposed to establishing new reserves and national parks. Enforcing this law should be prompt and efficient otherwise the most valuable areas which are not under protection yet, left in possession of private owners could be devastated even faster, often deliberately.
