In 2009, I conducted an Odonata inventarisation in 6 areas of the Narew National Park, which resulted in the documentation of 23 species. Besides that, I also analysed all the inventarisation works which were done in the Park area, a total of 44 species were until now documented.
During my second year of dragonflie’s (Odonata) studies, I documented for the first time Leucorrhinia species in the Narew National Park; those were the L. dubia, the L. rubicunda and the L. pectoralis. With these new records, the number of Odonata species in the NNP increases to 47 species, representing 64% of the Polish Odonata fauna. Besides that, this year I registered for the first time 13 species that I did not in the previous year, until now I observed 77% of the documented NNP Odonata fauna.
The study was conducted in the years 2003-2004 on four low peatland peat soil profiles located in the Narew National Park. All studied soils were sedge peat soils sampled from various habitats. The recognition of the soil fungi communities and their stratification in the studied profiles were the aim of the study. The 214 isolates were made, which were represented by 45 species. The reason for little differentiation of quantitative-qualitative structures of soil fungi communities in peat soils is their high moisture. The distinct differentiation among the soil fungi communities was observed. These results suggest that not only the soil-forming process affects the soil fungi communities development but also the soil properties, which were under influence in the past and have been still affected by the habitat conditions, are very important to the development process of soil fungi communities.
The paper presents an analysis of the possibility to facilifete floods in the Narew National Park from the Siemianówka Reservoir. The analysis has been based on a series of calculations made with the use of simulation-optimization model of water management in the Upper Narew. Considering various reservoir parameters, amounts and periods of floods and the values of typical flow rates, a possibility of reservoir utilization to improve water relations in a marshland valley is presented.
