The principles governing parasitic eosinophilia and its clinical significance are discussed. Constitutional as well as familial eosinophilia is extremely rare. The high incidence of tropical eosinophilia is explainable by great infestation rate in these countries. The notion of larva migrans visceralis is discussed. The interest of latent infestation forms with their clinical polymorphism is increasing as a function of the developing economic and cultural relations with countries of the IIIrd world.
