The author discusses principal legal considerations regarding the protection of agricultural lands in Hungary. He also compares Polish and Hungarian legal solutions applicable to this field. There are many comparable regulations which aim at limiting harmful effects of urbanization and industrialization. Besides, there are also some differences between Polish and Hungarian laws. For example, in Hungary there is no separate act on protection of agricultural land. More differences occur in specific regulations, often of procedural character.
