Three new Apophylia species (A. pesai,A. halberstadti and A. dembickyi spp. nov.) are described from Indian provinces Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Apophylia vietnamica Samoderzhenkov, 1988, is recorded for the first time in India. Male genitalia are figured for all species.
Palaearctic species of the genus Scelolyperus Crotch, 1974 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) are reviewed. Scelolyperus perreus sp. nov. from Turkey is described, illustrated and compared with Palaearctic species. Scelolyperus altaicus ssp. eous (Ogloblin, 1936) is elevated to species rank. Four taxa classified or associated with Scelolyperus are transferred elsewhere: Luperus pseudoaltaicus Medvedev, 1975 and Scelolyperus napolovi Medvedev, 2012 are transferred to Euluperus Weise, 1886; Adimonia glabra Fischer von Waldheim, 1842 is not conspecific with Scelolyperus sericeus (Jacobson, 1894) but belongs to the genus Agelastica Chevrolat, 1836 and A. alni orientalis Baly, 1878 is proposed as its new synonym; forgotten Eugalera seminigra Pic, 1903 is tentatively transferred to Luperus Geoffroy, 1762. The lectotypes are designated for Luperus altaicus ssp. eous and Adimonia glabra. Colour photo of habitus and both male and female genitalia are provided for all Palaearctic Scelolyperus species. Preliminary diagnostic table for Palaearctic “Luperus-like” genera is presented.
Three new species of Mimastra Baly, 1865, are described, illustrated and compared with related taxa; M. strejceki sp. nov. (Indonesia; Java), M. andrewesi sp. nov. and M. nilgiriensis sp. nov. (both India: Tamil Nadu state). Haplosoma longicornis Allard, 1888 and Trichomimastra itoi Takizawa, 1986 are transferred to Mimastra (comb. nov.). For the reason of homonymy, a new name M. jacobyi nom. nov. is proposed for M. longicornis Jacoby, 1892 (nec M. longicornis (Allard, 1888)). The lectotypes are designated for M. arcuata Baly, 1865 and H. longicornis Allard, 1888. The drawings of both male and female genitalia are presented for all species. Mimastra arcuata is reported for the first time from Myanmar.
Lochmaea crataegi group is established for four previously described species: L. crataegi (Forster, 1771), L. limbata Pic, 1898, L. setulosa (Sahlberg, 1913) and L. machulkai Roubal, 1926. The species from Asia Minor, Near East and Caucasus (L. setulosa and L. machulkai) are revised on the base of type material. L. machulkai is removed from synonymy and the lectotype is designated. Male genitalia of L. machulkai and L. limbata are illustrated for the first time. L. limbata is newly recorded for Iran and Jordan, L. setulosa for Turkey and L. machulkai for Azerbaijan, Armenia, Gruzia, Iran and Turkey.
Based on the examination of type material and study of literature sources, the following nomenclatural changes are proposed: Nymphius stylifer ssp. ogloblini (Bogatchev, 1947) (stat. nov.); Scelolyperus Crotch, 1874 = Tuomuria Chen et Jiang, 1985 (syn. nov.) = Tuomueria Chen et Jiang, 1986 (syn. nov.); Scelolyperus tibialis (Chen et Jiang, 1985) (comb, nov.) = Tuomueria tibialis Chen et Jiang, 1986 (syn. nov.) = Scelolyperus króliki Borowiec, 2005 (syn. nov.); Calomicrus apicalis Demaison, 1891 = C. peyroni (Pic, 1899) (syn. nov.); C. albanicus (Csiki, 1940) (comb, nov.) = C. macedonicus (Tomov, 1975) (syn. nov.); C. syriacus (Weise, 1924) = Monolepta anatolica Bezděk, 1998 (syn. nov.). Calomicrus heydeni (Weise, 1900) is confirmed as synonym of C. lividus (Joannis, 1865). Luperus sibiricus Csiki, 1916 proved to be Luperomorpha Weise, 1887, thus it is transferred from Galerucinae to Alticinae. Lectotypes are designated lov Luperus albanicus Csiki, 1940, L. brevicollis Weise, 1898, L. cous Weise, 1889 and L. rhilensis Weise, 1900. The drawings of male genitalia are provided for most of the species studied.
Three new species of Apophylia are described, illustrated and compared with related taxa: A liska sp. nov. (India: Meghalava), A blecha sp. nov. and yl. algie sp. nov. (both India: Tamil Nadu). Apophylia pavlae Bezděk, 2003 is proposed as a new synonym of A. melli Gressitt et Kimoto, 1963. New faunistical data of 34 Apophylia species are presented. Apophylia phuphanensis Bezděk, 2006 is newly reported from Vietnam, A. vietnamica Samoderzhenkov, 1988 from China, A. denisae Bezděk, 2005 from Thailand, A hajeki Bezděk, 2003 from India,A. schawalleri Medvedev, 1992 from China and A samoderzhenkovi Medvedev, 1993 from India.
