The research referring to the content of exchangeable Al was localized in the Carpathian beech forest of the Bieszczady National Park, complex Rawka. Acid brown soils were characterized by very low pHKCl, high exchangeable and hydrolitic acidity. The content of exchangeable Al [from 3,65 to 8,27 cmol (+) kg⁻¹ of d.m.] was highest in Ah and AhBbr chorizons. The participation of exchangeable Al in exchangeable acidity was highest in deepest, Bbr and BbrC horizons.
The object of the studies presented in this paper was to estimate the soil reaction, acidity and exchangeable aluminum content in the acid brown mountain meadow soil of Bieszczady. Was investigated also the content of Ca and Mg in presented soils. In the very acid soils conditions the content of exchangeable aluminum was high and the participation of Al in the exchangeable acidity was very high, sometimes higher than 90%.
