New polymer material (polyurethane) for the facing of plough mouldboards was elaborated and selected. The durability of prototype mouldboard facing was tested in laboratory and field conditions. The energy inputs (fuel consumption) at ploughing on two kinds of soil were also determined. Presented results of investigations showed the possibility of reducing fuel consumption by 5-14% depending on a plough desing and ploughing conditions at the durability of mouldboard facing equivalent to durability of hardened steel mouldboards.
