Radiological and macroscopic evaluations of the pancreatic efferent ducts were performed in pigs. The examinations were conducted on 280 pancreas. Two hundred glands were collected from pigs in the slaughter-house and examined with the use of preparation and microscopic evaluation techniques. A contrast radiological examination by means of 60% Urapolium Polfa was conducted with 50 isolated glands, and in 30 cases in situ during operative procedure the evaluation of the efferent ducts was made. In the majority of the examined pancreas, one centrally situated duct of the right lobe and two ducts of the left lobe joined together were found. The efferent ducts of the right and the left lobe were joined in all examined pancreatic glands near the base of the pancreas corpus into one centrally situated pancreatic additional duct (ductus pancreaticus accesorius) which opens independently into the duodenum at the duodenal papilla minor.
