The trolleybus ranks second in the classification applied in sustainable development, after the bike and before the tram, railway and bus transport. Despite this, trolleybus routes are closed down quite frequently: now it is planned in Tychy. The decision on elimination of this form of transport is based only on operational costs, slightly higher than those of the bus routes. Environmental, social and medical considerations are not taken into account. The author proves that elimination of the trolleybus transport is both harmful and economically infeasible, using Tychy as an example.
