The author's thesis is concerned with the activities of the first administrative institutions in the sphere of physical culture in Szczecin in years 1946-1948. The activities were mainly the liquidation of war damage and creating conditions for the further development of physical culture in town. The difficulties encountered in the process of creating the material basis of physical culture in Szczecin were also of a concern to the author. Frequent organizational and administrative changes as well as staff replacements, the damage of sports buildings, the lack of money, little investment possibilities - here is the whole range of problems and obstacles met by the post-war creators of physical culture in Szczecin.
