The target of this work was to elaborate a complex conception of mechanizing the technologies in maize production process including determination of the requirements for the machines and forms of introducing progressive technologies into practice. To accomplish the object some agrotechnical assumptions for maize production process were prepared and the possibilities of realizing particular technological parts of that process with proper technical means were analysed. On that basis the requirements for particular implements and machines were qualified. Presented paper suggests, that in complex modern technology of maize production following machines and implements would be essential: stubble cultivator, fertilizer distributor, manure spreader, reversible plough (or swinging plough), pre-sowing combination, single seeder, field sprayer or a sprayer adapted to assembling on a seeder or row-crop cultivator for belt spraying, row-crop cultivator, harvesting machine. The above machines and implements may be owned by a single farmer, a group of farmers or belong to the contractor.
