Fauna and population of testate amoebae were investigated in litter and soil of pine forests located in different regions of Poland (Puszcza Białowieska. Pu szcza Biała, Bory Tucholskie, Roztocze National Park). Similar ecological regimes (soil properties, plant cover) results in the similarity of testacid species composition, abundance and structure of the communities (domination etc) in the studied sites despite the considerable distance between forest massifs.
