The multipodding of pea (3 or 4 pods per stipule) is heritable, determined by two recessive genes. By crossing Souchet cv. (multiflorous edinlepea) with two cultivars of field pea - Koroza and Dwarf Gey Sugar some interesting breeding material of multipodded edible-field pea has been obtained. In this report the analysis of pod setting and estimation of some yield components of multipodded (3 pods per stipule) and traditional (2 pods per stipule) peas was conducted. The results suggest that field pea yield may - improved with the use of three-podded forms in breeding programme.
