Unfavorable living conditions of the population, particularly in rural areas, and the relatively low level of health culture, expressed by bad nutrition, insufficient physical activity, alcohol abuse, and smoking, are not conducive to maintaining the health of the population. The health status of the population, including children and young people, is assessed as highly unsatisfactory. The aim of this study was to evaluate the research on health behavior, serving as a basis for formulation of health education programs in rural areas. Literature reports seem to indicate that this sphere of life and education is a bit neglected, probably highly diverse and determined by the influence of various factors, both environmental and individual. Therefore, identification of hazards, understanding their life situation, diagnosing the situation, especially in a group of school children, is particularly desirable and expected. The development of health promotion and prevention programs among adolescents must be based on a fully reliable diagnosis of social situation, documented and monitored. Circulating information from newspaper reports and the school environment suggests the need for particular actions in the field of school health education, conducted by prepared, authoritative staff of educators. Such are the expectations and needs of young people and those who consider the health issues of children significant. The problem of great importance is the issue of research on the health behavior of young people, including rural areas, and the development of compatible research tools. The lack of such tools makes the comparison of the results obtained by different authors difficult. The acquired theoretical knowledge and implementation of various health programs have often failed to produce practical results. What is needed are the actual steps to promote health in schools and homes, and the skills to use the existing knowledge to make the analysis and search for the determinants of health behavior of young people. The skillful linking of thinking, action and knowledge of the determinants of health behavior, will prevent from one-sided trends in education, and will bring more focus on the skills and versatility in the harmonious development of young people. To develop the action strategy for health education, addressed to a group of children and young people of school age in rural areas, it is important to know the perception of health in this environment.
Subject and purpose of work: Explanation of the necessity of tight educational integration at the secondary and third degree level as the basis of positive continuation of the process of education which supports creation of innovative economy. The subject of analysis are the forms of realization of educational activity and protective mechanisms directed at elaborating qualified specialists for innovative economy. Materials and methods: The basis for analysis will be formed by standards and legal documents referring to the reforms of education process in Russia as well as statistical data. Data concerning the level of obtained knowledge by students, contents of various educational programmes and projects devoted to mutual relations of education and business in Russia’s economy were also used. Results: Key directions of transformation of educational activity from the perspective of the needs of Russian economy were presented. Innovative examples of approach securing efficiency of educational process were indicated. Conclusion: Research indicated the necessity of an integrated secondary and third level of education through defining competencies so that the scope of secondary school was directed mainly at cognitive actions and their further development which might be supplemented by further stages of educating.
Principles of lifelong learning in woodworking industry. Lifelong learning of adults is regarded as a one of the most important factors of social development and economic growth. Definitions like “knowledge society” or “knowledge-based economy” are in operation in many Polish and EU preparations or documents. They are regarded as modern reality, but are also challenge and program of the future. In highly developing woodworking industry, undergoing structural changes and trying to pace with technical and technological advance, permanent improvement of qualifications of the workers is almost forced. Article deals with assumptions and andragogical models of lifelong learning, in terms of creation of Lifelong Learning Center for woodworking industry. Task is somehow requiring, because of high complexity of woodworking industry knowledge base, ranging from biology, thru chemistry, mechanical science and other technical sciences, up to artistic design. Another problem is created by high dispersion of the industry, consisting of several thousands of rather small enterprises, each having its specific requirements. Consciousness of necessity of constant education of woodworking industry employees should contribute to implementation of andragogical learning models in this sector, mainly by creation of Lifelong Learning Centers for Woodworking Industry.
