The research was carried out on mountain meadows and pastures, 600-700 m above sea level in Beskid Sądecki. In the sward of the one meadow dominated Fectuca rubra with Agrostis vulgaris and Anthoxanthum odoratum. On the second meadow there it was Poa pratensis with Fectuca pratensis. The mountain pastures were dominated by Festuca rubra with Agrostis vulgaris and Anthoxanthum odoratum. On meadows the sward were cut twice, at the beginning of heading of dominant species and fifteen days later. On pastures the swards were cut at the grazing stage. Cutting the sward two times at later time was advantageous to the yields and disadvantageous to the quality of sward. The dose of 200 kg N per ha showed to be optimal as regards of yields of meadow sward and the fodder quality. The nitrogen rates of 20, 40, 60 and 80 kg ha accelerated of 7 up to 15 days of reaching the pasture maturity by sward.
