Results of three year studies on chemical composition of seed and sprouts of two horse bean cultivars Dino and Nadwiślański have been presented. Horse bean plants were treated during growth either with two different herbicides (Bladex or Basagran), or with one fungicide (Ronilan), or with one insecticide of pyrethroid group (Decis), or with all of these preparations together. Most significant changes in crude protein, starch, and water soluble sugars were found in seed treated with Basagran, Ronilan and Decis. In sprouting (germinating) horse bean seeds, collected from plants treated with pesticides a significant differences in crude protein, starch, soluble sugars, ATP and dry matter level between treatments were observed. Of the two examine horse bean cultivars. Nadwiślański seemed to be decisively more susceptible to pesticides treatment.
