In this paper, Cocceupodes longisolenidiatus, a new mite from the family Eupodidae is described and illustrated on the basis of material collected from Poland. A comprehensive account of the morphology of the body, i.e. idiosoma, gnathosoma, legs with setae and solenidia, is given.

In this paper, Benoinyssus najae Fain, 1958 from the family Eupodidae is redescribed on the basis of a paratype from Africa. The paratype is housed in the Musée Royal de l'Afrique Centrale, Tervuren, Belgium. A comprehensive account of the morphology of the body, i.e. idiosoma, gnathosoma, legs with setae and solenidia, is given here for the first time. This is the first redescription since B. najae was originally described.

The first known fossils of the mite family Rhagidiidae, representing at least two species, are recorded from Baltic amber (Eocene). One of these is described as Zachardia flexipes n. gen. n. sp., which appears to differ from extant Rhagidiidae in having the femur of legs I and II divided into three segments. A second species is tentatively assigned to the extant genus Poecilophysis CAMBRIDGE, but the condition and probable immaturity of the single available specimen preclude a formal description.

Hawaiieupodes termophilus from the superfamily Eupodoidea is redescribed from the Hawaiian holotype and paratypes housed in the Bishop Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii. This is the first redescription since H. termophilus was originally described. Details of body morphology, i.e. idiosoma, gnathosoma, legs with setae, and solenidia are described and a morphological comparison with the genus Penthalodes of the family Penthalodidae is presented as a basis for the discussion of the systematic status of the mite Hawaiieupodes termophilus.
