Apart from scientific papers dealing amongst others with history of Poland, historian Norman Davies, professor of the London University is the author of monumental book entitled „Europe. A history” which has been recently published in Polish. The work deals much with environmental science and the transformation of the European natural environment over the centuries starting from ancient times. The conclusion drawn by the professor in relation to the results of the international economic development, especially the industrial revolution, is not optimistic: either mankind will come to senses or we will be faced with destruction.
