In the ranges Chełmowa Góra and Serwis-Dąbrowa of the Świętokrzyski National Park 70 species of carabid beetles (Carabidae) were reported, among them 16 species new to the fauna of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains and one, Amara littorea, very rare in Poland. The communities of the carabid beetles in both ranges had a different ecological character. It was recorded that the mechanical structure and humidity of the soils had the greatest impact on the composition and structure of the carabid communities.
