In the experiments carried out in 1989-1992 the influence of sprinkling and nitrogen fertilization on the yields of 4 root crops, 5 cereal crops, 2 legume crops and 2 fodder crops was investigated. An interaction of sprinkling and nitrogen fertilization on the yields of all plants, except oats, has been found. Most often water conditions did not affect the fertilization doses optimum for yields, but the effectiveness of nitrogen was higher under sprinkling conditions. Only winter cereals and legume crops required higher nitrogen fertilization under sprinkling conditions. In the group of strongest reaction to sprinkling (increase of the yield above 30%) were the following plants: soybean, sugar beet for seeds, alfalfa (1-st year of cultivation), potatoes, oats and italian ryegrass. The highest increases of yields in cereal units due to sprinkling were obtained from sugar beet seed (21,60 cereal units) alfalfa (20,91 in 1-st year and 12,57 cereal units in 2-nd year of cultivation), potatoes (19,88), italian ryegrass (17,46), soybean (12,60) and oat (11,70). When converted to 1 mm of sprinkling water the highest increases of yields in cereal units gave: winter barley (0,250), potatoes (0,194), sugar beet seed (0,180), soybean (0,140), carrot (0,136) and winter triticale (0,126).
