Scotch pine (P. silvestris L.) needles derived from 1987-1989 have been collected on the area of central Poland and south-east Sweden and treated for determination of DDT and its metabolites DDE and DDD, alpha- and gamma -HCH (lindane), HCB, some chlorphenols and over twenty PCBs. It has been found that the level of all compounds except PCBs was much higher in wax of needles derived from Poland. The profile of PCBs in Polish and Swedish samples was different.
