Mutagenic response of four chemical substances of Physalis ixocarpa Brot, and Lycopersicon pimpinellifolium Mill. (Solanaceae) has been studied. Total soluble sugars, protein and phenols content in ripened dry fruits and ascorbic acid content in fresh one have been measured. From nine mutants which have been studied only two ones have showed selection value of the mutant gene. In the berries of the both mutants an increased amount of nutritionally valuable substances has been found.
