The experiment was carried in years 2007–2009 on the experimental field of the Education and Research Station Krasne of Rzeszów University. The aim was to evaluate the yield and cereal mixtures and the effect of spring barley, spring wheat and oat cultivated mixtures grown after grain forecrops am weed infestation. Mixtures with 50% of oat considerably reduced the number of weeds and their air-dry weight as compared with the mixture of barley and wheat. Mixtures cultivated after cereal mixture forecrops showed a lower weed infestation than those sown after winter wheat and barley. The average level of mixture yields after the forecrops of grain mixture amounted to 4.73 t/ha and was considerably higher compared with cultivation after other forecrops. Regardless of the forecrops, the mixtures with predominance of oat showed a higher grain yield than the mixture of barley and wheat.
