Thirty samples were chosen from domestic rabbits from three regions of Poland: typical agricultural, agricultural with a small manufactoring industry and typical industrial. The content of mercury was determined in tissues of slaugtered animals by the method of AAS using an automatic analyzer of mercury traces TMA-245. The content of mercury (nmol ‧ kg⁻¹) in a fresh mixture of cortical part of kidney was 29.0—43.5, in medullar part of kidney 11.0—29.0, in the liver 10.5—19.5 and in muscles 5.5—9.5. The level of mercury increased in tissues of rabbits along with a level of industrialization.
