Polymeric heat-shrinkable and cold-shrinkable films in the form of sleeves are increasingly used for labels, especially in food industry, supplanting paper labels. The reason is their better mechanical and chemical resistance. This article presents results of a study of 10 heat-shrink and cold-shrink sleeve labels from food products available in Poland. FTIR-ATR and DSC analyses were performed in order to identify the polymer materials, and then static tensile tests were done to determine mechanical properties of labels.
