In its country of origin Schisandra chinensis is dubbed the five-flavour fruit, as its peel is sweet, its flesh is sour, its seeds are acrid and when ground, with time grow salty. The fruit originated from northern China and Korea, but can be grown in Poland too. Its healing properties rank it within the top fifteen plants used for this purpose. It stimulates and tones the nervous system in states of mental and physical tiredness, increased sleepiness, and low pressure; it increases the ability to see in the dark, regulates the functioning of the heart and stomach, increases the potential to work under difficult conditions.
