The article focuses on the problem of land use and post-industrial object transformations, which in mass scale occurred in Poland at the end of the 20th century. The aim of the article is to present some examples of post-industrial areas and infrastructure in Poland, chosen for their emblematic characteristics: pioneer role, cultural significance, unique scale and innovative method of transformation. Less known examples are also shown, which, although very important, are absent in a public discussion due to their peripheral location or nonspectacular effect of transformation. The selection of examples has been based on a long-term observation. For analytical reasons three categories of post-industrial facilities were adopted, i.e. individual objects, larger units constituting urban landscape and outside urban area objects. The review reveals a diverse picture of post-industrial area and facility transformation in Poland.
