Porównano wartość rzeźną gęsi z czerech rodów doświadczalnych (WD-02, ReD-01, WRe-21 i Ls' WD-12) wytworzonych w Zakładzie Hodowli Drobiu Wodnego w Dworzyskach należącym do Centralnego Ośrodka Badawczo-Rozwojowego Drobiarstwa w Poznaniu. Odchów ptaków prowadzo w tym samym czasie i w ujednoliconych warunkach środowiska. W wieku 12 tygodni z każdego rodu pobrano losowo po 20 samców oraz 20 samic i poddano ocenie wartości rzeźnej. Gęsi z rodu WD-02 charakteryzowały się największą masą ciała przed ubojem (5 457 g). Ich tuszki zawierały 1 675 g mięsa, 974 g tłuszczu ze skórą i 659 g kości, co stanowiło odpowiednio 48,49; 28,19 i 19,04% masy tuszki. Stosunek mięsa do tłuszczu ze skórą wynosił 1,74: 1. W porównaniu z nimi gęsi z rodów ReD-01 i WRe-21 były lżejsze (5 103 i 5 047 g), a ich tuszki charakteryzowały się korzystniejszym stosunkiem mięsa do tłuszczu ze skórą (1,96: 1 i 1,93 : 1). Ptaki z rodu Ls'WD-12 pod względem masy ciała były zbliżone do ptaków z rodów ReD-01 i WRe-21, a pod względem stosunku mięsa do tłuszczu w tuszce do ptaków z rodu WD-02 (1,79 : 1). Wydajność rzeźna (I) była zbliżona u gęsi z rodów WD-02, ReD-01 i WRe-21 (od 71,7 do 72,l%), a istotnie mniejsza u gęsi z rodu Ls'WD-12 (71,24/o).
