The drug was given intraduodenally in two portions, 3-4 tablets hourly, dissolved in water. After 3 hours magnesium sulphuricum was administered per os; 25 persons showed the elimination of strobilli along with scolex. Among 39 patients treated and followed-up the recovery was obtained in 37 eases (about 95%).
The authrs examined the oviducts of women treated operatively in the IInd Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical School, Gdańsk, who exhibited a long-standing trichornonadosis, for the presence of T. vaginaiis. During the gynecologic operation, the oviducts were removed and placed on the Pawłowa medium wilh the incubalion at 37°; after 48 hours the fluid was centrifuged, the sediment placed on another medium and examined under microscope. The oviduct was flushed with buffor used for Pawłowa medium, precipitated, and centrifuged, transferring the sediment on Pawłowa medium. The cultures were checked after 24,48 and 72 hours. Among 4 women, in whom oviduct cultures were made, 2 showed positive results. In one case an isolated strain could be maintained through several passages, in the other, single degenerated, poorly motile forms of the protozoon were found after 24 hours, which disappeared completely in the next passages.

Using the hemagglutination test the authors came to the conclusion that a positive result is a transitory phenomenon related to the presence of the parasite in old cases or to the deinfestation procedure. The removal of Taenia from the organism results - in uncomplicated cases - in the loss of positive reaction.
Among 2434 persons submitted to parasitological examinations (decantation, Rivas, Fülleborn, NIH) and bacteriological ones (SS and Mac Conkey's media) a group of 85 persons affected by dysentery was singled out (table I). Intestinal helminthiasis was here more frequent (65.8%) than in other groups (44.1%). Just the same was observed among persons sent to the laboratory with helminthiasis suspected, because Shigella bacteria were found in them more frequently (5.9%) than in other groups (table II). 19 patients of this group were subjected to dysentery analysis (table III) and it turned out that in some cases the patients did not suffer from helminthiasis though they were suspected of it. The authors do not discuss the question whether there exists an interdependence between the incidence of dysentery bacteria and intestinal helminths or whether invasion and infection occurring simultaneously, are the result of bad sanitary conditions.
The author discuses the attempts of helminthiasis mass treatment under field conditions, among adult people periodically submitted to obligatory examinations for Bacterium typhosum. Füllenborn's. Rivas' and Faust's methods as well as decantation and NIH tests were applied and the results obtained made it necessary to repeat the examinations at least 3 times more (table I). As to the frequency of invasion no distinct differences in particular age groups were found (table II). On the whole, among 1451 persons examined helminthiasis was found in 45.7% (table III). The highest percentage showed the personnel from schools, infant schools and creches, the lowest - persons employed at hairdressers and wine- & liqueur factories. Attention should also be paid to 6.4% Taenia saginata found in workers of butchery establishments. 6 months after the treatment control exam'iations of 817 persons were carried out (according to the schemes showed in table IV). In spite of unfavourable conditions (uncontrolled home treatment) a decrease of the general percentage by 17.7% was obtained.
