In 1998 renewable energy in Poland amounted to about 1.5% of used energy, while in Sweden it was dose to 30%. According to the „Renewable Energy Programme” in 2010 it should amount to 7.5%, and in 2020 to 14% of used energy. Vegetable production causes the release of some of agricultural area, which can be used for energy aims. Polish programme is to produce rape for technical aims (energy aims) on the area of about 2 million of hectars. Vegetable production for energy aims should take into account the value of energy input. Possibilities of such analysis appear when using the method of energy analysis. The amount of energy input used for production of rape is shaped dependening on accepted variants and it amounts to from 12356.5 MJ·ha⁻¹ to 16950.3 MJ·ha⁻¹. Rape production for energy aims is reasonable from energy point of view. Effectivity of renewable energy production from rape is on the level of 2.34-2.56. Developing rape for energy aims is well-founded from the point of view of the following aspects: ecology, farm implementation of fallow land, enlargement of employment.
