Zrob, in miners’ jargon, means an exhausted part of coal field. The Lower Silesia, abundant in mineral resources, have been mined for centuries. Much of the exploration went undocumented. The old mines come back to haunt even years after being decommissioned by land collapses and subsidence which poses hazards for construction and transportation. The authors look into the old mine sites and dangers lurking there.
