The author presents a characteristic of the studies on the occurrence of the pupa forms of Culicinae in the sub-Warsaw water reservoirs. In those waters was demonstrated the occurrence of pupae of 17 native species of the stinging mosquitos. The most common and numerous were the pupae Culex pipiens, Theobaldia annulata, Aëdes dorsalis, Anopheles maculipennis, Aëdes vexans and Anopheles claviger (see Table I). To the early occurring pupae belonged the species: Aëdes leucomelas, Aëdes flavescens, Aëdes cinereus and the pupae spending winter in the larval stage of the mosquitos as Anopheles claviger, Theobaldis annulata, Theobaldis subochrea (Tabela II). The Tables II and III present the characteristics of the environments in which the pupa stages were diagnosed. The author described the way to calculate the indexes of the trumpets and paddles according to Sicart and Rufie (Fig.1 and 2).
