Liver fibrosis plays a pivotal role in liver function impairment. Hepatic fibrosis is a complex process that involves changes in the amounts of extracellular matrix components, activation of cells capable of producing matrix materials, cytokin release, and tissue remodelling. Chronic disturbed lymph flow from the liver induced fibrosis in this organ has been described. Little is know about the alteration of metabolic pathways of the liver tissue during disturbed lymph flow. Activities of liver enzymes, aldolase and glutamate dehydrogenase were studied in serum and in the liver during disturbed lymph flow from the liver in Wistar rats.
