Po zastosowaniu preparatu Termasil u dzieci leczonych z powodu stanów zapalnych dróg oddechowych o etiologii zarówno bakteryjnej, jak i wirusowej, stwierdzono normalizację ciepłoty ciała oraz poprawę samopoczucia. U wszystkich dzieci zaobserwowano dobrą tolerancję preparatu oraz brak objawów ubocznych.
The goal of the research was to evaluate the usefulness of the preparate Baypamun in the treatment of clinical upper respiratory tract infections in dogs. The studies were performed on 60 sick dogs with signs of upper respiratory tract inflamation. All of the sick dogs received Baypamun or a placebo separately or in combination with Baytril. There was no positive response to the administration of the placebo. In the group which received only Baypamun a systematic disappearance of signs until their complete remission was observed. The results of the application of combinations of placebo+Baytril and Baypamun+Baytril were similar. In both groups the therapy used led to complete healing. However, the signs of sickness in the group treated with the combination of Baypamun and Baytril disappeared quicker than those in the group treated with Baytril and the placebo. The use of Baypamun did not cause any side effects. Baypamun can confidently be used as a product for the therapy of weak infections or as supportive treatment of sub-acute upper respiratory tract infections in dogs.
Organs in which inflammation goes by different rules through protecting them against damage are called immunologically privileged. These include the central nervous system, the front chamber of the eye (excluding the cornea), the liver, the kernel, the pregnant uterus, hamster cheek pouches and hyaline cartilage. The brain immunological privilege is due to fact that it has no lymphatic vessels and contains a small number of T-lymphocytes and macrophages, while a blood-brain barrier is present. In the brain, there is a long-term graft survival of allo-and xenografts, such as the adrenal medulla tissue or fetal tissue allografts. The anterior chamber of the eye is also an immunologically privileged area, which is often a convenient place for grafts of experimental tumors in animals. Inside the testes tolerance of autoantigens present in the germ cells is attained, which is maintained by the presence of incomplete barriers limiting access to reproductive cell antigens of immune cells and antibodies. In other parts of the body such a response to an antigen is not found, which makes these organs very interesting from the point of view of pathogenesis and immunity.
The paper presents the inflammatory process as a phenomenon connected with excessive immune reaction on the example of acute inflammation (eg. cellular stress) and chronic inflammation (chronic gastritis, atheromatosis). Inflammatory process with an immunopathological background (allergy and anaphylaxis, chronic rheumatic arthritis), autoinflammatory diseases and the so-called diseases due to immunological deficiency with inflammatory factors are also presented.
