Little is known about the toxicity of aluminium; the issue is becoming ever more timely, particularly in areas affected by acid rain. Here are published some contributions from participants in a conference devoted to this topic, at the Research Institute of the State Department of Hygiene.
The impact of liberation in foreign trade on the natural environment arouses many speculations. Both areas of activities are closely interconnected: liberalization affects the environment and more stringent environmental regulations are immediately reflected on international markets. The author discusses the impact of trade on the natural environment and environmental policy; the concept of sustainable development is also dealt with. Sustainable development is called „ecodevelopment“ in the Polish literature.
The label „Poland's Green Lungs” is usually associated with north-west Poland. Instead, the natural and environmental values of these five north-west provinces (Gorzów, Koszalin, Słupsk, Piła and Zielona Góra) justify a proposal to establish a natural and ecological complex in this area which will benefit this region as well as the whole country.
