Many countries signing up to the Kioto Protocol agreed to limit their green-house gas emissions that disturbe the Earth’s thermal balance. These countries now face changes to their economies. This, in turn, reduces the competitiveness of some industries compared to the industries of the non-participating states. The EU countries have adopted an emissions trading system. The article talks about the confusion caused by the introduction of the EU regulations in Poland and their implementation.
