The processes of decision-making within the household comprise a number of spheres of life. Division of the roles within the family and importance of individual persons (particularly housewife and househusband) is a consequence of the model of family's decision-making in force where, as a rule, there can be observed its differentiation depending on the domain of family life. In the case of purchasing decisions we have often something to do with various models of making thereof, depending on the nature of purchase. The process of making decision on purchasing products being bought periodically and episodically is multistage. On each stage, individual family members may play definite roles. On the example of households of young people, there are observed differentiation and modifications of the roles played by household members in the process of making decisions on purchasing durable products. Differentiation of importance of individual persons depended on the type of the good being purchased, the stage of decision-making and such features of the household as the family life cycle and time-period of household existence.
