The role of outsourcing in regional development

More and more companies today decide to contract out some of the sectors of their enterprise to the outside company in order to increase its competitiveness in the market. Outsourcing is very often a strategic decision for a company. If outsourcing is carried out properly it can considerably contribute to improvement of the operational effectiveness of the company, as it enables it to focus on the core competencies. Cooperation with such third-parties is said to give an opportunity to use unique know-how, technology and competencies. The aim of this article is to determine the notion of outsourcing and its advantages and disadvantages in applying analysis in the BPO/SSC sector in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. This article presents selected companies from the BPO/SSC sector in Lublin. The said city has an opportunity to attract foreign investments from the BPO/SCC sector owing to the cost competitiveness and relatively high quality of human resources. The city of Lublin should, in an appropriate way, create a portfolio of the investments realized in the sector of BPO/SCC that will attract investors in the said sector.
Subject and purpose of work: The subject of this study is the region of Eastern Slovakia. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the impact of tourism on regional development. To analyse the influence of tourism facilities on regional development selected indicators of tourism development are used. Materials and methods: The material consists of data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic and selected municipalities. The data are processed by methods of descriptive statistics. Results and conclusions: The article explains the importance of tourism in the development of the Eastern Slovakia region. Based on the analysis of economic impacts of tourism on the regional development we can conclude that tourism has minimal effects on this region.
The article investigates the features of investment activity in the region with the reference of bioeconomy. The concept of “bioeconomy” is determined. The significance of the introduction of this concept in the 21st century is proved. The idea of “green” economy as a part of “bioeconomy” is outlined. The notion “green” investments, their value, involvement peculiarities in the regional economy, priority areas for investment are described. The efficiency of investing 2% of world GDP in bioeconomy is analyzed. The cluster model of regional development with region’s ecobrand forming is offered. Formation of clusters increases the investment attractiveness of the region, enhances its competitiveness and increases the amount of investment.
Regional development is determined by regional growth factors, their ability of exploitation. Economic base created by different industries is an important developing factor. Their com­binations predetermine region's economic orientation and create assumptions for its future development. The article shows economic base of Slovak regions and on the bases of locali­zation analysis explains disparities of different economic development of individual territory units. Localization analysis belongs to the classic technics of space analysis, which through partial technics (e.g. localization coefficient, specialization coefficient, Lorenz curve) describes the relations between industries and the number of inhabitants.
The article deals with Prešov self-administration centre, its position within the Slovak Republic. Based on the statistical data she tries to find out its advantages and disadvantages in the further development. The industrial parks that have been already built as well as those that are to be built should support it. In the summary they suggest recommendations that Prešov self-administration centre can use for its further trend.
Our work concerns of the determinants that affect the management of municipal waste in sustainable regional development in Poland by analyzing the adequacy of income covering the costs of the new legal environmental waste management systems. We also present the results of research on the impact on local residents and the environment of the largest landfill in Europe, demonstrating a small influence on the life and health of local residents. This impact was much more correlated with smoking. We analyzed the choice of method for calculating charges for waste disposal and discuss the consequences of the introduction of the different options.
