We elaborated three new methods enabling better evaluation of the process of loosening, detaching and transporting soil particles. These methods are as follows: method of the stimulated rain causing water erosion, method of the measurement of the sample microhardness where sample is exposing on the eroding action of the rain from stimulator, evaluation method based on the measurement of the output torque from shaft of the hydroseeder mixer till the moment as we obtain stable hydromixture layer which is covered on the sloped surface of the embankment in dependence of the weight solid concentration.
Results of application of geoinformatic analytical and modeling tool are presented in following paper. The analytical tool was developed for agricultural catchment of the Mielnica Stream, located on the eroded southern slopes of Trzebnica Hills in Low Silesia district. Land use changes scenarios had been studied there. The main goals were: designing soil erosion control system (basing on good agricultural practices and agri-environmental measures) as well as environmental impacts assessment. Decision Support System for erosion control management was developed on compilation of IUNG methodology and numerical catchment model. A scenario designing was carried out according to ecophysiographic studies as well as to soil cover analyses, meteorological and hydrological monitoring data. It occurred that further studies of economic and ownership aspects of proposed scenarios need to be provided both at farm and catchment scale.

The paper presents results of 2-years studies on the intensity of water erosion processes in the road gully in Wielkopole near Krasnystaw. Field measurements included inventory of erosion and depositional forms. During the studies, three surface washouts that led to erosion damage were registered. Totally, erosion damage in a form of rills amounted to 144 m3, and the volume of deposited soil material on the bottom of gully and the roadside ditch was 209 m3.
The paper outlines problems concerning semantics of the notion of soil erosion, range of constituent processes; the review analysis of existing systems of the classifi cation of these phenomena has been presented. The author also proposed multicriterial systematics of water soil erosion processes – uniting onomastics from the range of earth’s sciences with the nomenclature applied in agricultural sciences, taking into consideration meritoric and practical aspects. The systematics bases on the general criteria (main causative factor, and type of process) and 6 itemical criteria (a–f): component processes, character of degradation, object of infl uence, way of infl uence, effects and preventive measures. Basing on these assumptions the systematics of three essential types of water erosion (surface, ravine and underground) has been presented. The multicriterial analysis of processes, considering also preventive measures to soil erosion degradation of mechanical, chemical and hydrological type, as well as of accumulative type (the so called harmful sedimentation) will help to recognize the complicated structure of these processes.
Research on soil erosion undertaken on selected slopes of the Suwałki Lakeland (NE Poland) in years 1986–1989, 1998–1999 and in 2007 allowed to determine features of deposits transported and deposited within the slopes. Sedimentological analyses were used and following granulometric indices calculated: mean grain size diameter, sorting and skewness. Organic matter content was also determined by loss on ignition. Size of mineral grains (Mz and d-5%) were analysed in relation to rainfall erosivity. Analyses of sediments originated from soil erosion supports previous fi ndings regarding their structural and textural features. Granulometric composition of deluvial deposits is determined by the source material – soil cover. Analysed slope deposits were medium and weakly sorted and their skewness was positive which shows similarity to the slope soil cover. Deposits originated from rill erosion had skewness varying from slightly positive to slightly negative. Rainfall erosivity weakly correlates with the size of mineral grains transported and deposited. This is explained by the fact that transported material included not only separate grains but also grain aggregates and because the material partially originated from rainsplash. Following juxtaposition of sedimentological indices: Mz-σ1, Mz-Sk1, Sk1-σ1 and also Mz with loss on ignition proved helpful in determining conditions of the erosion-transportdeposition process. Multimodal frequency curves with a low amplitude of the modes are characteristic and typical for deluvial sediment. It is found that the minimum transport distance needed for registration of the process in sedimentological properties of the deposits is 30 m. Moreover, only rainfall of a high intensity was able to modify sedimentological proporties of the deposits.

Analiza procesów erozji na potoku Słomka

72%
