Past 44 years, Achillea crithmifolia Waldst. & Kit. has been found in a south part of Wrocław, but in other place than formerly.
A new localityof Isolepis setacea has been found on a terrace of the Łacha river near Nieszowice village. It occurs there on bottoms and banks of new ponds, dug in 1998. The population consists of a few thousand of individuals.
A new locality of Euonymus verrucosus Scop. has been found in the eastern part of the Wzgórza Trzebnickie Hills, near Malerzów village. The species is critically endangered in Lower Silesia and the only locality could be threatened by forest management.
W latach 1988-1990 na glebach kompleksu pszennego dobrego w trzech zakładach doświadczalnych przeprowadzono 4-czynnikowe doświadczenia polowe z pszenicą ozimą. Stwierdzono, że największe znaczenie dla opłacalności produkcji miały dobór stanowiska i odmiany pszenicy oraz chemiczna ochrona roślin. Osiąganie większej opłacalności produkcji było możliwe przy uprawie pszenicy ozimej (odmiana Lanca) w stanowisku po roślinach niezbożowych, na niższej dawce azotu i przy pełnej ochronie roślin przed chorobami grzybowymi.
Scutelaria altissima L. is a very rare alien anthrophytic species in Poland. It is found in the western laceland forest where it goes through its full life cycle, including developing fruits and seeds. Every year, it extends its territory due to favorable natural conditions. For the first time, the species has been included in the geographic-historical group of holoagriophytes.
This document presents new sites of two invasive moss species; Campylopus introflexus and Orthodontium lineare. These species had previously been found on only three sites near Łódź. Two new sites have been identified in the city of Łódź.
Programme of Conservation and Restitution of the Common Yew in Poland was initiated in 2006. The research determined variability of the species Taxus baccata L. clones originated from different sites, included in the Archive of Clones of Valuable Species in the Forest Inspectorates of Syców. Taxus baccata L. clones were obtained from parent trees growing in the Forest Inspectorate of Lubsko, Wdecki River Landscape Park, Forest Division of Żółwiniec, Forest Inspectorate of Woziwoda, Wierzchlas Reserve and Forest Inspectorate of Czersk. A foil tunnel experiment was established in the Prof. Stefan Białobok Forest Arboretum situated within the Forest Inspectorate of Syców. Each site was represented by the group of 100 clones. Eight months after the date of rooting process commencement the degree of rooting (%), number of lateral branches and length of spring shoots (cm) were estimated. The following morphological and anatomical observations and measurements were carried out: the number of stomatal apparatuses per 25000 pm² and their length (μm), thickness and width of needles (μm), size of needles of the layer of spongy and palisade parenchyma as well as the vascular bundles (μm). The results obtained were analyzed statistically. Cluster analysis was used to distinguish the groups among studied genotypes and to determine the distances between particular groups. Statistically significant variability of Taxus baccata plants originating from different sites was found for all characters studied. The seedlings from the first site - the Lubsko Forest Inspectorate - showed the highest rooting degree as well as the most advantageous number and length of spring shoots. The anatomical features of needles analyzed turned out to be helpful in determination of the variability in studied material relative to the origin.
The paper presents the first case of Cotoneaster divaricatus growing wild in Poland. The species was found in a pine plantation in the village of Mogielnica (Korczew commune). The population was composed of 21 individuals, 12 flowering specimens and 9 juvenile specimens.
This paper presents a new locality of Ophioglossum vulgatum L. found in the south-western Poland in 2009. The population consists of 7001000 specimens.
Chrysanthemum segetum is a rare species in Poland, which is within the easternmost extent of its range. The species is an anthrophyte that is not native to Poland. The aim of the present study was to determine the the present-day distribution of the species on the basis of field investigation, revised herbarium materials, review of the literature, and both published and unpublished data. Altogether, the species was found at 281 sites in 92 ATPOL squares in Western Pomerania.
The current distribution of Rosa gorenkensis in Poland is presented. The species is found on 16 sites mainly in the eastern part of the country. Evidence that the species has a large invasive potential is also presented.
In Poland, Batrachium penicillatum Dumort. is known from four localities. All of them are situated in Sudety Mountains, in Lower Silesia. In this paper, environmental conditions of this species are characterised. The threat category of B. penicillatum (up to now: R – rare) has been changed into VU (vulnerable).
An ephemerophyte Sorghum halepense is a very rare species in Lower Silesia. Before 1945, it was recorded from 2 sites in Wrocław and 1 in Legnica. The paper presents 3 new sites of the species noted in Wrocław in the years 2001 and 2002. Seeds of S. halepense were transported here with bird food.
