Current world tendencies in development of combine harvester construction were presented. Selected new, more functional designing solutions of combine harvester assemblies and equipment were described. Special attention was paid to modernization and the innovations applied in harvesting, threshing-separating, cleaning and grain transportation assemblies as well as in the driving system, ergonomic and mechatronic equipment. Basic directions in development of combine harvester construction were pointed out. The ways of improving main technical and operation indices (the throughput, performance, energy requirement) were also suggested.
