The aim of the experiments carried out in a high, polyethylene in the years 2004- -2006 was to examine the influence of the algae preparation Bio-algeen S-90 on yield, mineral composition of fruits, content of assimilatory pigments, intensity of assimilation and transpiration and photosynthetic water use efficiency index of the cherry tomato cv. Conchita F1. The results on tomato yields proved significant differences in total and marketable yield under the influence of Bio-algeen. The biggest total and marketable yields were obtained when plants were treated three times with Bio-algeen. Bio-algeen also caused increase in content of mineral components in cherry tomato fruits. Three- and fourfold sprays increased the content of total nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, zinc, iron and nitrates. Treating tomato plants with the preparation increased the content of assimilatory pigments of tomato. Increase in a number of Bio-algeen sprays led to higher contents of total, a and b chlorophyll and carotenoids in leaves. Intensity of assimilation and transpiration of the plants and water use efficiency index depended on number of plants spraying with Bio-algeen. Plants sprayed two and three times with Bio-algeen were characterized by greater transpiration and assimilation intensity, but also by smaller efficiency of water use index.
The study of content of K, Mg, Ca, Na, Zn, Cu, Fe, Li, and Pb in human hair was carried out on 300 individuals in the years 1996-2002. The patients were from Lublin, Zamość, Łabunie, Krasnystaw, Ostrów Krupski, and Zwierzyniec. The samples of hair to be examined for the content of Mg, K, Na, Zn, Cu, Fe, Li, and Pb were collected from 79 healthy controls, 98 mentally handicapped, 81 psychiatric patients and 42 somatic patients. The content of particular elements in hair was determined using atomic absorption spectometer type AAS-3 (Carl Zeiss), attached to a microcomputer type 113 MPC/38 C and Spectr AA 880 by Varian. The results of the study of hair revealed the positive correlation between Mg and Pb (Rs=0,49, p=0,000024) and between K and Na in healthy controls. Negative correlation was revealed between Mg and K in healthy controls and between Mg and Ca in all studied patients.
The study of blood serum for the content of Mg, K, Ca, Na, P and CI in blood serum was carried out on 47 healthy controls, 121 mentally handicapped, 27 psychiatric and 14 suffering from different somatic diseases. The patients were from Lublin, Zamość, Zwierzyniec, Krasnystaw, Łabunie, Ostrów Krupski. The study was carried out using atomie absorption spectrometer type Cobas Mira in the Central Laboratory of State Children's Hospital in Lublin. The results of the study revealed positive correlation between Mg and Ca in 47 healthy controls, similar correlation between Mg and K, Mg and P. In 162 patients correlation between Mg and P, and between Ca and P was also positive.
Human or animal hair is considered to be a good indicator of the content of bioelements or toxic elements in human and animal organism. Its analysis is a good alternative for the arduous obtaining blood or biopsy samples. The aim of the performed research was the assessment of some chosen bioelements in the organism of European bison on the basis of their analysis in hair. The investigation material comprised hair samples obtained from 22 animals. All animals were divided into groups according to gender (males, females) and age (calves up to one year of age and animals older than 2 years). Samples were mineralized in nitric acid, under pressure in the microwave apparatus. The content of phosphorus, sulphur, magnesium, iron, titanium and vanadium were determined in hair samples. The content of these elements was determined using the ICP-AES method in accredited laboratory. The accuracy of determinations was tested using the standard reference material. The mean content of phosphorus in hair amounted to 245.14 mg · kg–1, SD 65.00, magnesium 97.32 mg · kg–1, SD 33.16, iron 119.48 mg · kg–1, SD 83.31 and titanium 2.368 mg · kg–1, SD 2.097. In case of these elements, differences depending on gender and age were statistically insignificant. Mean content of sulphur in the European bison hair amounted to 3.41% with equalized content in the herd (SD 0.22%). Here also statistically insignificant differences depending on gender were observed. However, a statistically significant difference (p ≤ 0,05) was demonstrated which depended on animal age. Mature European bisons had more sulphur in hair as compared to calves. The concentration of vanadium (0.362 mg · kg–1, SD 0.396 on the average) significantly differed in hair depending on the European bison age with much higher values in adult animals (calves 0.260 mg · kg–1, animals older than 2 years 0.686 mg · kg–1). Similar data were obtained while investigating hair of sea mammals.
W naparach z herbat czarnych, zielonej, owocowych i ziół oznaczono zawartość biopierwiastków (Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu, Fe) i metali toksycznych (Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Al) metodą AAS z atomizacją w płomieniu i piecu grafitowym. Oznaczenia prowadzono przy pH=6.00 i pH=2.00.
