The objective of the study is to analyze regions’ potential investment attractiveness and its influence on the location of enterprises. The analysis was based on a secondary study carried out regionally in 2012 for the year 2010. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient was applied in the study regarding the connection between potential investment attractiveness and enterprises’ location, measured by the number of located entities per 10 thousands residents. Correlated variables confirmed the existence of a positive connection between the variables hypothesis.
The studies concerned the variability in nectar and pollen production in flowers of 75 double-low lines of white mustard (Sinapis alba L.) and a reference cultivar ‘Nakielska’. Also, rates of insect visitation to flowers in 19 lines were investigated. Significant genotypic differences were found in nectar amount, sugar concentration in nectar and total nectar sugar amount. The average nectar amount/10 flowers varied from 2.3 to 24.4 mg, with a mean 14.7 mg for ‘Nakielska’. Nectar concentration for most lines exceeded 20%. The majority (52%) of the lines tested produced more than 2 mg of sugars/10 flowers in nectar. The average amounts of pollen varied from 1.2 to 12.0 mg/10 flowers, with the mean 8.5 mg for ‘Nakielska’. No clear genotypic effect on the amount of pollen/10 flowers was demonstrated. The lines did not differed significantly in their attractiveness to flower visitors. The main foragers were honey bees (93% of all visiting insects). It is concluded that the double-low lines of S. alba are comparable to conventional cultivars in their potential for nectar flow but perform poorer as pollen producers. Rural areas in Poland have great tourism potential, which is used in offers made by agritourism farms. Catering for guests, has great significance in such offers and is based on products produced by the farm owners. It gives the possibility to sell the products on the premises and provides farmers with additional financial benefits. The aim of the paper was to check if food products offered by agritourism farms in the Wielkopolska Province are considered attractive for both tourists, who have spent their leisure time there already, as well as for potential tourists, who have not spent their holidays there yet. In the studies, it was found that these two groups of tourists are interested in the products and meals offered by farmers.
An increased significance of tourism in economy and a growing competition in this area between local government units imply the need for information that would make it possible to identify and assess development opportunities of particular communes. The aim of the research was to assess tourist attractiveness of rural and rural-municipal communes of the eastern part of Warmińsko-mazurskie Province and to identify factors determining their development. Secondary data and information collected by means of a survey were used in the research and analysed statistically. In order to assess tourist attractiveness, synthetic analysis was made with the use of 11 variables. The results made it possible, inter alia, to select three groups of communes with different levels of tourist attractiveness, to define their spatial distribution and to determine the significance of the factors in the development of this economic sector.
Background: The purpose of the research was to check opinions of students of various stages of education in the Pomeranian province about the attractiveness of Nordic Walking in comparison with other activities. Material/Methods: About 500 intentionally selected students participated in the survey. These were students of 11-18 years of age. Half of them participated in Nordic walking PE lessons. The researched students’ schools were localized in the Pomeranian province in Poland. Methods of a diagnostic survey using two questionnaires were applied. The first one was used to assess the level of students’ physical activity and was also used to research health behaviours of children and adolescents in Europe (HBSC). The second one – our own – was created to asses the attractiveness of Nordic walking. In the first part, the subjects ranked Nordic walking in comparison with other forms of physical activity. In the second part, they declared eagerness to attend such lessons. Results: The collected data imply a vast diversity of students’ opinions about the attractiveness of Nordic walking in comparison with other forms of physical activity and indicate the need to do research in the area of students’ preferences in planning PE lessons at school. Conclusions: It seems that in subsequent years of education, NW will gain followers among this group because it is a natural form of movement, whose health effects are starting to be seen not only by teachers but also by students.
