Ozone occurring in the bottom layer of atmosphere is one of the main secondary air pollutants. Under a Polish-American program, scientists from PAS Institute of Botany studied ozone in the Cracow area (Niepołomice Forest, forests in the Myślenice region). It was shown that tropospheric ozone in this area occurs in such high concentrations that they might be liable to harm forest ecosystems.

The above work presents an outline of the methodology and results of investigations concerning effectiveness of progress on farms. The investigations were carried out on 40 farms situated on the territory of villages lying the vivinity of Cracow. The farms were divided into 5 area groups for which the following was determined: - value of pure production, - value of engaged production means, - quantity of labour expenditure. Then the following indices were calculated: - work effect, - progress, - effectivness of the progress. The results were calculated on the basis of prices the end of 1991. The obtained results were analysed and on diese basis the conclusions have been drawn.

Przeprowadzona analiza standardu energetycznego oparta na wskaźniku zapotrzebowania na nieodnawialną energię pierwotną EP dla reprezentatywnej grupy budynków mieszkalnych pozwoliła na określenie udziałów budynków należących do poszczególnych klas energetycznych. Zaledwie 2% budynków spełnia wymagania stawiane w Warunkach Technicznych, gdzie EP powinno wynosił ok. 150 kWh/(m rok). Średnie zapotrzebowanie na nieodnawialną energię pierwotną EP w badanych obiektach wynosi 305 kWh/(m rok).

Author presents characteristic of duration of air mass occurrence in Southern Poland in the period 1951- 2009. The highest duration regardless of the season has a continental polar air (3.8 days). The mass of the shortest periods is maritime polar fresh and warm air (about 1.7 day). In terms of seasonal duration is strongly correlated with the frequency. In long-term perspective there is no statistically significant changes in duration.
