It is shown that the name “Leptothorax nylanderi” as used by all earlier Russian authors, is a misidentification. The species distributed throughout East Europe and the Caucasus is really A. crassispinus Karawajew, 1926 (here revived from synonymy and stat. nov., and senior synonym of L. slavonicus Seifert, 1995 syn. nov.). There is a narrow zone of overlap of L. nylanderi and L. crassispinus in East Germany and West Poland but the situation in the Balkans needs further clarification.
The paper presents results of the studies on wasps (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) in Pieniny National Park. Based on the collected material, the presence of 14 species of wasps has been established. 5 of them were not recorded in the area before. Vespula vulgaris was the dominant species and represented 96,57% of all the collected wasp specimens. The species composition and the number of collected wasps was different in particular forest communities.
The paper focuses on two groups of parasitic Hymenoptera: (primary) parasitoids and hyperparasitoids of aphids. The author summarizes also the studies on parasitoids of different aphid species, including pests, in different seminatural habitats and agrocoenoses. At the end of the article the author gives new ideas, as well as proposals and perspectives of future investigations.
Descriptions of seven new species of the genus Dinotrema Foerster with widely sculptured propodeum are suggested: D. agaricophagum sp. nov. (Denmark and Ireland), D. curtisetum sp. nov. (Denmark), D. deprane sp. nov. (Denmark), D. haeselbarthi sp. nov. (Denmark and Italy), D. lobatum sp. nov. (Denmark, Finland and Portugal), D. paludellae sp. nov. (Denmark) and D. setaceum sp. nov. (Germany). The comparisons of the these new species with the most similar Palaearctic Dinotrema taxa are given.
This is the first of a series of papers revising the genera of Diapriidae with emphasis on the Central European fauna. The aim of this work should be to improve our knowledge of this poorly studied group of Proctotrupoidea as well as to provide useful keys, and to work out a new classification hased on the interpretation of apomorphies inferred. The genera are to be treated with respect to their presumed relationships. This paper deals with the subfamily Belytinae with particular reference to the tribus Pantolytini. The taxonomic value of adult characters and their taxonomic implications are discussed. Identification keys for all genera of Pantolytini are provided. A new classification for Pantolytini is proposed.
