In Wieliczka Salt Mine there has been a sanatorium operated for thirty years, where disorders of respiratory passages have been treated in old cavities with a specific microclimate. Post-mining cavities in Bochnia Salt Mine have also beneficial effects. Furthermore, the allergic department of Wieliczka health resorts' hospital is situated in Sieraków: the patients treated in this hospital are taken to the mine by buses.
